Robert McConnville
Robert began racing on the road full time in 2005 after a successful career as a duathlete. In 2003, Robert was the U23 champion at the Southeast Regional Championships, later that year Robert represented the United States in the World Championships finishing 22nd in the U23 division. In 2004, he was the runner-up in the U23 US Duathlon National Championships and was selected to the U23 National Team for the second time.
While preparing for a second trip to the World Championships Robert injured himself running, forcing him to miss the 2004 World Championships. Able only to continue riding, he focused on road racing full-time in late 2004 and had his Cat 2 license by the end of the 2005 road season.
Highlights of his charge through the categories include a 1st place finish overall at the 2005 French Broad Classic (Cat 3). Robert is ranked 10th nationally amongst Cat.2 time trialist and has posted a 52 minute 40k.
2006 saw Robert continue to develop into a complete rider. He has been a regular in the top 10 in Regional Pro 1,2 time trials and has showed solid results in criterium, road and stage races alike. The team looks forward to putting Robert very high on general classification in stage races throughout the 2007 season.
